Folded-Dipole Antenna Geometrical Analysis for THz Microbolometer

چکیده

To improve the responsivity of terahertz (THz) antenna-coupled bolometer, heater (load) resistance has to be increased suppress thermal conduction and realize larger temperature rise thermistor. Proper design antenna is therefore essential assure impedance matching between heater. From this viewpoint, a high-impedance folded-dipole (FDA) been studied numerically by finite element simulation. The effect FDA structural parameters such as number arms, width, arm spacing are discussed with lumped port resistive coupled gap for cases radiating receiving modes, respectively. product resonant area efficiency used predict improvement made figure merit (FOM) correlated bolometer responsivity. This study revealed that optimum FOM in FDA-coupled operating at 1 THz was obtained three 1-μm width 4-μm spacing. A comparison result from half-wave dipole could enhance factor 15. research demonstrated effectiveness performance applications imaging non-destructive inspection.
